Furthermore, your parents may have legitimate concerns about your ability to use your smartphone responsibly. Before you begin to think about making your request, you need to have established a reputation with them of being responsible and trustworthy. You also need to approach the conversation with your parents in a strategic way in order to up your chances of having your request granted. Make sure to help around the house and keep your parents' expectations high.

Cell phones are constantly improving, and it's likely that your new phone isn't as good as it used to be. If you are in need of a new phone, you might have a difficult task ahead of you convincing your parents that it's worth it. But even with the strictest of parents, by using a few proven techniques, you can improve your chances of getting the new phone you rightfully deserve.

So you want to convince your parents to get you an iPhone? This is no small purchase, but with the right facts and details you can convince your parents that you need an iPhone and that you are responsible enough to use one.

Come to a meeting with your parents with all of the costs for the iPhone worked out, and how you can help pay for this. If you are old enough to get a part-time job, this should help a lot. If you are not old enough for that identify projects you can help with at home or other ways to contribute to the cost.

Make sure to identify what apps and tools are free and which ones are paid. You can recruit your teachers, and ask them what iPhone apps they recommend for studying so that you can get a better grade. During the meeting, make sure you tell your parents that a specific teacher said this app will help you.

You may not like it, but this is a big selling point for convincing your parents to get you an iPhone. Tell them that they can track your location, share calendars and always be in communication with them.

Hi Abigail, an Iphone 5C is one of the best choices, take it with you and be responsible, then for the next upcoming year, you can ask her. Maybe your mom is doing that to see how you do with a phone. Hold on to that Iphone 5C of yours because almost everyone here wants to get an Iphone. Hahaha. Have fun! :)

Come on guys, some of you have an Iphone. Dont care whether its a 4 or a 3gs. At least it is an Iphone! I am ten and I have no expectations of a Moto G2 even ! My parents would never get me a smartphone! We dont have a single apple product in our home! I am really desperate

I feel your pain. I want an iPhone more than anything else. Almost all of my classmates have it. It just make you feel so jealous and tense to see that all your friends have an iPhone from a 4s to 6.

Well, if you want an iPhone so badly, why not fix the problem you had at school. If it was for bad grades, maybe improve them. If it was that you got into a fight, maybe try and start getting into a friendship with they guy. Maybe, and maybe then, will your parents consider to get one for you.

Families can use Ask to Buy after they set up Family Sharing. The family organizer can turn on Ask to Buy for any family member who isn't an adult. It's on by default for any children under 13. You'll be asked to set up Ask to Buy when you invite anyone under 18 to your family group.1

If you decline a request, your child receives a notification that you declined the request. If you dismiss the request or don't make the purchase, the child will need to make the request again. In iOS 16.1 or iPadOS 16.1 or earlier, requests that you decline or dismiss are deleted after 24 hours.

If you miss an Ask to Buy notification, you can find the request in Messages on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple Watch, or Mac. If you don't see the request in Messages, you can find your Ask to Buy request in Notification Center.

Purchasing a phone, let alone, an iPhone is a big responsibility your parents are handing on to you. The phone itself costs an arm and a leg, and there is also the additional cost for data usage and some other accompanying administrative charges that could pile up, even if you take on a two-year contract to get one. More than that, there is a worry of using the half a thousand bucks worth of phone responsibly. Unless your family is particularly well-off, you would need to have an established reputation for being a trustworthy and responsible child before you even think about your request. How to convince your parents to get you an iPhone? Try out the following guide to help you have your request granted.

Apple once stated that their product is aimed to be a luxury brand, i.e. they are not meant to be cheap. Do your own research. Before convincing your parents, research how much it will cost them to buy or upgrade to the iPhone. Find out the network carrier your family prefers and the current plan you are on. Go online, or even to the physical store to consult the cost.

Show your parents how well you are taking care of the other electronic devices you currently own, such as iPods, tablets, gaming consoles and computer. Keep them organized, clean and well-protected. Maybe even get a protective sleeve for your laptop.

As a child, you are bound to have limited responsibilities. One of those is ensuring that your grades are up there at the top. Moreover, your parents might consider the smartphone as the additional tool for an additional distraction. Take a good, honest, hard look at your grades before you make your request.

Another way to get your privilege up to them is to convince your parents that sweet iPhone is the one you want to help them pay. Start earning money and they might be more liberal with what type of phone you are interested in. Get a part-time job on weekends (or after-school), work as a waiter or help out in the grocery stores. While this will make you look more responsible in the eye of your parents, just remember that you would still need to maintain your grades up.

If your parents are not particularly tech savvy, make the effort to explain all the useful apps and features that you will have right at your fingertips, be it an encyclopedia or a dictionary. Then all you need to do is just prove it with a steadily improved grade.

The iPhone is not just a phone, it has everything you need to keep in touch with anyone, from anywhere. Text message, instant message, emails, phone calls, social networking, all are ready to use. Get your parents impressed with those features that allow them to reach you with any method they prefer, to ease them with the financial trade-offs.
